Mental illness, domestic violence, and repressed homosexuality are all touched on in the Pulitzer Prize winning American masterpiece, A Streetcar Named Desire! And our director, set and lighting designers are working hard to create the perfect ambiance to bring Tennessee Williams' iconic story and characters to life on our stage. Become A Wimberley Players Underwriter

Performance rights, costumes, props, music, and other needs can cost $10,000 to $20,000 per show. The Wimberley Players relies on the generous support of individuals and businesses to underwrite our productions. It is absolutely essential to our budget. 

 

There's still time to become a 2023 Underwriter and help cover the expenses associated with a production or one of our various programs. You will gain community-wide recognition for your tax deductible support of the Players in our newsletter and Playbill, and receive a range of very special benefits.   • Join the Williams family in partially underwriting our Holiday Musical Nuncrackers: $3,000 
  • Full Season Royalties: $12,000
  • Partial Season Royalties: $6,000
  • College Intern & Apprenticeship Program: up to $33,000
  • Underwrite one intern: $4,000

WORK WITH THE PLAYERS

Stipend Positions

 

RUNNING CREWS: These vital individuals work backstage, operate light and sound boards, and control livestream cameras. 

 

DESIGNERS: We are always looking for NEW lighting, sound, scenic, and costume designers. Send your resume and/or link to your website or portfolio to be considered for a future production. 

 

PROPERTY COORDINATORS: If you like to shop, scrounge, work with your hands, assemble, or create something from nothing, join us. 

 

PRODUCTION PRODUCERS: If you are a great organizer or project manager with excellent communication skills this position is for you.

IT TAKES A VILLAGE OF VOLUNTEERS 

 

It takes a village to produce theatre. Volunteers are needed to help with building and painting sets, making and maintaining costumes, working in the box office, ushering, serving concessions, maintaining the facilities, and more. The Wimberley Players presents inspiring, entertaining performances and programs that bring a diverse community together through live theatre, events and education. Founded in 1979, it was Wimberley’s first nonprofit. Its current location on 450 Old Kyle Rd, just east of the Wimberley Square, welcomed its first audiences in 2006.
