Position Summary |
The Department of Theatre Arts invites candidates for Lecturer of Technical Direction and Practicum (part-time) within the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. The successful candidate will be able to handle the budgeting, drafting, technical design, organization of, and management of the Theatre Arts Department production season.
In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission. This position is considered a “Responsible Employee” under Title IX federal regulations and “Mandatory Reporter” under Texas state law and the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter, this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about Title IX violations. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. |

Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts.

Required Work Experience |
Significant scenic construction experience.

Preferred Qualifications |
Prior experience as a technical director or assistant technical director.

Work Hours |
Must be available most weekday afternoons, Fridays from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m., for show technical rehearsals, and for weekly crew calls as assigned; will work 40+ hours a week.
