The VORTEX 2023-24 Season 

Magic to Heal Broken Worlds

 

[Austin, TX] The VORTEX announces a new season of urgent, unashamed art for 2023-24. This year, our 36th season, we dive into Green New Theatre, embracing Environmental Justice through our theatrical art, activating our cultural harbor en español and ASL, and creating magic to heal broken worlds. 

 

Green New Theatre Symposium 

September 14-17, 2023

Centers environmental justice over four days of performances, panels, walks, and gardening. Inspired by Symposium (Ancient Greek)–a convivial party with music, dance, poetry, and conversation in a free interchange of ideas. Featuring Annie Sprinkle and Elizabeth Stephens, Glass Half Full Theatre,  Proyecto Teatro, and dozens more. Plus Vegan Brunch and Climate Change Theatre Action play readings. ASL-interpretation available for some performances.
