CTX3357. Ground Floor Theatre Austin Invites Playwright Submissions for GFT WRITES, a Twelve-Month Playwriting Intensive. Deadline July 22.

Ground Floor Theatre is accepting applications for our new writers group, GFT Writes. The group will meet biweekly over the course of twelve months with each playwright developing one new play. Playwrights will receive an honorarium as well as a paid workshop and public reading of their play developed in the group. GFT Writes will start meeting in late August 2023, with workshops taking place the following August. Playwrights must be based in the Austin area.

 

All plays developed must be consistent with Ground Floor Theatre’s mission of producing work focusing on underrepresented communities. For more about our mission, click here. 

To apply, email us:

1. A completed, full length play that best represents your work,

2. your theater resume to include your address, and

3. an artistic statement, no longer than one page. Dedicate some space here to tell us about the play you would like to work on, and how you and/or your work fall within GFT’s mission. You can work on any early draft play, or start fresh with something brand new. Send your materials in one email to megan@groundfloortheatre.org.
