THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL: YOUTH EDITION

Jul. 27 – 30, 2023 – FTA Summer Youth Musical

FTA presents a junior version of the hit Broadway musical based on the beloved animated series. The stakes are higher than ever as SpongeBob and all of Bikini Bottom face the total annihilation of their undersea world. Chaos erupts. Lives hang in the balance. And just when all hope seems lost, a most unexpected hero rises and takes center stage. The power of optimism really can save the world! THE HEIRESS

Oct. 20 – 29, 2023 – FTC Fall Drama

Produced three times on Broadway to overwhelming acclaim, The Heiress is a story of love and betrayal set in 1850s New York. Catherine, a young woman who stands to inherit her father's large fortune, falls in love when she meets Morris, who gives her the love and affection her father doesn't, and which she desperately needs. Catherine's father, believing Morris is only after the money, tells Catherine she will be disinherited if she marries him. Morris' true intentions are put to the test when he finds out about the amended will. Based on the classic Henry James novel Washington Square, The Heiress was also made into an Oscar-winning film starring Olivia de Havilland and Montgomery Clift. Dec. 8 – 17, 2023 – FTC Holiday Musical

The Plaids are back in an all-new holiday show! Filled with Christmas standards that have all been “Plaid-erized,” our boys are back to do their Christmas Special. At first, Francis, Jinx, Smudge and Sparky aren’t sure why they’ve returned to Earth for another posthumous performance, but a phone call from the heavenly Rosemary Clooney lets them know that they’re needed to put a little harmony into a discordant world. This truly “heaven-sent” holiday treat will lift audiences’ spirits and fill them with nostalgia for a bygone era of classic music sung in perfect harmony. HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING

THE SWEET DELILAH SWIM CLUB

Apr. 12 – 21, 2024 – FTC Spring Comedy

Five Southern women whose friendships began many years ago on their college swim team set aside a long weekend every August to recharge those relationships. Free from husbands, kids, and jobs, they meet at the same beach cottage, the “Sweet Delilah” on North Carolina’s Outer Banks, to catch up, laugh, and meddle in each other’s lives. The Sweet Delilah Swim Club focuses on four of those weekends and spans a period of thirty-three years. As their lives unfold and the years pass, these women increasingly rely on one another, through advice and raucous repartee, to get through the challenges (men, sex, marriage, parenting, divorce, aging) that life flings at them. A hilarious and touching comedy, The Sweet Delilah Swim Club, is about five unforgettable women and friendships that last forever. (Rated PG for Adult Situations, Adults $29 / 17 & Under $12)

Sept. 9 at 6:00 p.m.

Join us for our first ever Casino Night fundraiser! Monies raised will be used to support our youth education program, the Fredericksburg Theater Academy, and our fabulous productions. The evening will feature simulated casino games including blackjack, poker, craps and roulette, live music, heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, silent auction, and a raffle! FOURTH ANNUAL TEXAS HILL COUNTRY COWBOY GATHERING

Nov. 3 & 4, 2023

This two-day festival of Song, Story, Poetry and Art features internationally acclaimed, regional, and local talent. Songwriters, poets, balladeers, and artists will celebrate the legend and cowboy spirit in all of us. Tickets available early Fall through Event Brite. (Rated G)

 

THE AMERICAN SOLIDER

Nov. 10, 11 & 12, 2023 

A powerful and emotional one-man show performed by acclaimed actor Douglas Taurel, The American Solider pays tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of our military veterans. Based on real stories and letters written by veterans and their families, from the Revolution to our recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The show combines exhaustive research and verbatim language from interviews with veterans and letters to bring to life our soldiers' struggles at war and their internal struggles to come back home. FTA presents a junior version of the hit Broadway musical based on the beloved holiday film. Buddy, a young orphan, mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity (Rated G, Adults $15 / 17 & Under $10)

 

THE PRESLEY PROJECT: CHRISTMAS WITH ELVIS

Back by popular demand!  With a mission to bring their audiences "All Elvis - No Jumpsuits,” The Presley Project focuses re-creating the sound and style of The King and the TCB Band from their 70's heyday, without the trappings that take away from the legendary music. GOD'S MEGAPHONE: A VISIT WITH C.S. LEWIS

Based on one of Roald Dahl’s most poignantly quirky stories, Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach JR. is a brand-new take on this "masterpeach" of a tale. When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean, and launches a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks, and plenty of disagreements along the way.
