Gilbert and Sullivan’s Sorcerer is magically transported to Las Vegas. An idealistic social reformer convinced that love can bridge institutional divides, a Vegas conjuror, a wedding chapel, potions and spells, what could go wrong?
“The Sorcerer” was the first G&S opera to use all the major character types and range of songs that would define their later collaborations: comic duets, patter songs, novel ensembles, and a sparkling chorus that acts as a major character.
This charming concert-style performance will be on stage with limited staging and sets live at the Worley Barton Theater! Adapted and irected by Jeffrey Jones-Ragona. Accompanist Joseph Choi. All lyrics were captioned.
