María Ibarra (via Teatro Audaz)From José Rubén de Léon:

Our beloved theatre artist María Ibarra has died.

She was a beacon of light and a font of unconditional amor y paz.

May the angels lead her into Paradise y que descanse en paz.

From Teatro Audaz:

What can you say about losing a beautiful soul like Maria?  What can you feel besides absolute sadness?

For those of us who were privileged enough to be in her presence, we will cherish the moments spent with her and remember her for the beautiful soul that she is.

Our love and deepest condolences go out to Maria's friends, students and family.

We are heartbroken and feel that the SA Teatro community has gotten a bit darker with the loss of a truly beautiful and positive force of love and light for everyone who knew her.  She will be deeply missed.

Que en paz descanse,  Maria Lartista.

From Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center:

It is with a heavy heart that the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center shares the devastating news that one of our own has passed on.

Maria Lartista, beautiful mother, dear friend, fierce advocate for the underserved and talented actress who graced the stage of the Guadalupe Theater passed away on Saturday, October 16.

Maria leaves a lasting legacy of activism for justice in the many students she impacted through her years of teaching including the brilliant work she accomplished with Grupo Animo, the teen theatre classes at the Guadalupe. Her infectious smile and loving heart will stay in our memories forever.

Maria Ibarra, presente!

From Classic Theatre of San Antonio:

We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of incredible artist and human, María Ibarra.

Seen many times on the Classic’s stage, María’s brilliant light and joy will be greatly missed.

Our thoughts are with her family and friends
