Deadline Extended to February 12: Hyde Park Theatre's Invitation to Austin Playwrights to Submit Scripts
Austin playwrights, we've extended the deadline for submissions to HPT's New Play Summer Workshop
to February 12.
Hyde Park Theatre’s new play summer workshop is back in June of 2018! We are calling all Austin-based playwrights with a play they want to crack. We are looking for the full length play that you are most passionate about developing, rather than the play that is ready for production; we’re ready to roll up our sleeves with you. The selected playwright will have a director, professional actors, a week of rehearsal, and printing for all those new pages. The process will culminate in a reading open to the public.
If you are an Austin-area playwright send us two things: 1. your full length play and, 2. a short statement of your goals for the workshop. That’s it! Send your materials to megan@hydeparktheatre.org by February 12, 2018. Include the words “WORKSHOP SUBMISSION” in the subject (seriously, she really likes seeing that in all caps). Hard copy submissions will not be considered. The workshop will take place in late June 2018, and the selected playwright must be available during that time. Maximum one submission per playwright. At this time we are not accepting musicals.
