The Cultural Arts Division and
Boss Babes ATX invite you to join a community conversation with practicing artist
Lenka Clayton and artist, editor and advocate for artists
Sharon Louden on her book series
“Living and Sustaining A Creative Life.” Together, Clayton and Louden will work to answer (or at least gather some IRL ideas) around the following questions: How can creatives approach their work with an entrepreneurial mindset—without compromising their artistic integrity? What sort of resources exist for practicing artists?
In today’s digital landscape, the arts and culture industries are contributing more to our economy than ever before—and living and sustaining a creative life seems all the more possible. In practice, though, making art and making money often sit at odds. So, can we do both? And, if so, how? At the Jan 20 event, Louden and
Clayton will share pragmatic models in which they and other artists sustain their lives.
