San Antonio Symphony Director Sebastian Lang-Lessing Asks Supporters to Attend January Concerts

THE FOLLOWING IS A MESSAGE FROM OUR MUSIC DIRECTOR SEBASTIAN LANG-LESSING

Dear former or current board members, but most importantly friends of the San Antonio Symphony,

I hope this finds y'all well and you had wonderful holidays. This is not to add to the current debate of the state of the Symphony nor to take any position!

As Music Director, I'm writing to you about the essence of our mission.
The strongest and most important action every single one can take right now is buying tickets to the Symphony's upcoming concerts. Needless to say we have two amazing powerful programs in the first two weekends of January. The current uncertainty might help ticket sales.

I'm asking you as the core and the strongest supporters of the Symphony, to bring as many people to these concerts and spread the word. Let's turn these two weekends into a demonstration of enthusiastic support.
We will play our hearts out and give the community, what we're best at: thrilling and passionate performances showcasing the excellence of our musicians.

Let's pack the houses 5 times: January 5/6 & 12/13/14!

If every single one brings in 10 people and spreads the word in the community it will have the snowball effect we need. There's no better marketing than your passion for our art form and mission. Bring friends, neighbors, business partners, colleagues, employees and random people you meet.

Our love is with our audience, we are here for you, the only reason we work so hard is the passion we want to share with you.

I'm very glad "The nightmare before Christmas" did not become the Symphony's last performance!

I couldn't think about a better way to start the New Year than with our Spanish program featuring American super star Ana Maria Martinez.
We will demonstrate strength unity and the strong will to fight with Beethoven's Eroica.
You are our heroes!

With love and deep admiration for what you all have been doing in support of this great cause,

looking forward to seeing you at the Tobin Center,

yours Sebastian !
