Austin Returnee Robert Bataille Is Pitching MER-ZIN, an Immersive Theatre Piece on Wine-Tasting and Dining

I lived here 30 years ago and have returned after many years in Southern Calif and Napa Valley. Seems like you are interested in doing original productions.
One thing I did there was write this interactive play. “MER-ZIN"
We’d like to find producers, promoters and investors to stage our interactive wine-tasting comedy “MER-ZIN” in Austin. The audience “tastes along” with the actors and audience members on stage as they tour a classy winery. Lots of history, wine education, comedy, a story and yes - great Napa Valley wines. We think it could run for years in the right place. It’s about a UC Davis Professor who creates a new grape… a hybrid of Merlot and Zinfandel. As he takes his former student/assistant around the winery, a smarmy wine broker tries to get in on the action. The sets wrap around the classroom-style audience seated with six glasses in front of them and include a Scenic Overlook, Tasting Room, Cellar, Barrel Room, Picnic area and dangerous Crush Pad. Of course, there’s some nice food and cheese pairings to go along with the world class vino. Tickets $60-80 perhaps.
We’ve witnessed first-hand Texans’ wine fervor.

After too many years and careers in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Napa Valley, Robert B+ is baaack!
In Austin and Houston during the early ‘80s, Robert used to play solo as Silver Battle at funky dives and fancy restaurants and with the Silver Battle band. The singer-songwriter-guitarist left to pitch his indie film musical and finally did shoot it 25 years later. After creating and producing several community theater musicals along with starting a bocce league, he recorded his own cd “zymphonix” adding all the parts on a guitar synth to the exquisite drumming of Kevin Hayes. Robert has his own style and will be playing an eclectic mix of originals punctuated with gems from the 40s, 50s and 60s. Please drop by the Owl Wine Bar and Antique Emporium in historic downtown Elgin on Thursday, Jan 11 from 5:30-7:30 pm during the city’s monthly “Shop and Stroll” event.
