Funding Appeal from New Cedar Park Theatre Company for A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, June 16 - 24, 2017

Our Mission Statement:  To be a significant cultural asset for the Cedar Park/Leander community by presenting quality and enjoyable theatrical experience to our audiences utilizing local talent in order to showcase, encourage and provide opportunities within the community for emerging artists

(Click to go to info & contributions page)I have been a theatre booster parent for seven years and now with only one year left in high school theatre, I started thinking “What if this wasn’t the end?” so I reached out to Jerry Blake and Linda Major in July 2016 because I knew with their extensive high school theatre experience they’d tell me if this was a good idea. Unbeknownst to me, Jerry and Linda believed for many years that our community needed a theatre company.  They had personally talked about it, dreamed about it, and said, “Someday!”

It's been a learning experience on how to make this work, but the dream, enthusiasm and our team support has gotten us through all the Texas State filings, the 501c filings, the bylaws and the city meetings where we received so much encouragement that it really fired up our passion to do this. We visited with other theatre companies in the area and were given invaluable advice, encouragement and support. We came away thinking, “We can do this!”  Heartfelt thanks to Austin’s Capital “T” Theatre, The Baron’s Men of Austin and Penfold Theatre in Round Rock for truly helping us to run with this idea.

So here we are with a perfect outside amphitheater at the Veteran’s Memorial Park along with our cast and crew excited for our inaugural performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream on June 16,17, 23 and 24, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. There is no charge for people to come and lay down a blanket or pop up a chair and enjoy the show.

We need your financial support to make this new theatre company a success. We are ready to start building our sets, designing our website, advertising, and the countless other expenses that come with creating a theatre performance. We need enthusiasts and supporters that believe in what we are doing. We would love to have you join us as our “FOUNDING FRIENDS” and you will be listed in every future playbill as those that first believed in us by making the financial commitment we needed. Please join our theatre family and be valuable contributors to the art, tradition, history and culture of our community.

We have amazing high school theatre programs in our area and we’ve watched students build great friendships during their high school musicals and UIL OAP performances. We are so happy to have  current and past alumni from three high schools join us to perform side by side while bringing local families together to enjoy theatre. We are ready to bring community theatre to Cedar Park. Won't you join us?
