Theatre for a Cause

The idea for Theatre For A Cause took root in Santa Barbara, CA in 2013 and was founded by Lara Hollaway and Mathew Edwardsen. Both have long enjoyed careers in the theatre…Lara as an actor, tap dancer and choreographer and Matthew as an actor and opera singer. After spending several years performing professionally, this husband and wife team decided that they had a passion to give back and love their community through the arts and created TFAC.

Following a successful production of Love, Loss and What I Wore in Santa Barbara, CA and raising money for the Breast Cancer Resource Center of Santa Barbara, Lara and Matt made the decision to move their theatre company to Austin, Texas to produce the same show, this time for the Breast Cancer Resource Centers in the Austin area.

TFAC is dedicated to producing professional theatre productions for the community, while raising money for local charities. We pair our productions with organizations that would benefit from the message being communicated by that particular play or musical.

Our theatre company is made up of actors, directors, producers, dancers, musicians, educators and people with a passion for giving back through the arts!
