SATX Storytellers

SATX Storytellers is the online hangout for San Antonio’s Listen to Your Mother Show. The Listen to Your Mother Show is entering it’s fourth year in the Alamo City and brings live storytelling to the stage.

About the people behind the scenes:

Jill Robbins

Jill Robbins is an Air Force veteran who fell into writing by accident when she started a blog she thought no one except her mom would read. She’s been published in various print and web magazines, to include The Washington Post, The Huffington Post, Disney’s Babble, and more. She was a part of the 2015 Listen to Your Mother cast in Austin and brought the show to San Antonio the following year. She and her husband, Lee, have three children – Laura, Kyle, and Zack. Jill lives in Cibolo with her husband and sons, although she’s usually somewhere else.

Jennie Badger

Born and raised in Cuero, Texas, Jennie has lived in San Antonio since graduating from Trinity University. She has worked in public relations, practiced law, freelanced for a local magazine and directed children’s musicals. A 2017 cast member of Listen to Your Mother, she has also participated in Texas Public Radio’s “Worth Repeating.”  This is her third year to co-direct and produce Listen to Your Mother. Her writing has been published in several literary journals, including the Sunlight Press and Hippocampus Magazine. She and her husband, David, have three children – Andrew, Erin, and Eleanor. 

Maria Luisa Cesar

Maria Luisa is the founder of Greater Good, a communications consulting firm rooted in storytelling. She previously worked in the Office of Mayor Ron Nirenberg as a senior policy advisor and deputy communications director. She kicked off her professional career as a journalist for the San Antonio Express-News, where she covered all things education. Maria Luisa was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and received a bachelor’s degree in print journalism from the University of Texas at Austin. Her work focuses on helping organizations better tell their stories of impact. She is very slowly getting over her fear of public speaking.
