ABOUT THE LOGO (September, 2022):

We finally have an official logo!

We’ve been working on this for a while with our designer and we couldn’t be happier. Look for it soon on stickers, shirts and more!

To understand the concept behind it, here is a statement from the graphic designer, Mar Rivera:

“When designing the logo, I concluded that the most important idea about the Pharr Community Theater is this: It is not a building. It’s a people.
The Pharr Community Theater (PCT) does not have a permanent structure. It never has. A school one month and a commercial building the next.
You can have a Shakespearean play in a building like Radio City Music Hall or in an elementary school auditorium.
At PCT, all the actors in every play are volunteers from the local community. All the people that sit in the audience are from the local community. Regardless of what building they may be in, it’s the people that make each performance special.
Since the theater performs a wide variety of plays, I knew the logo would need to be clean and bold and look good on different posters no matter the genre. I felt a one-color logo would offer the least amount of problems while also keeping reproduction costs minimal.
I decided to start with a black box to represent the stage. I added the name of the theater at varying angles to create a sense of dynamics and volume. I broke some of the letters outside of the frame of the black box to add a bit a depth to it as well. If you look at it long enough, you may get the illusion that the letterforms are pushing or pulling away from you in 3d space.
I hope people find the logo to be full of energy and mystery but easy to read and memorable.” – Mar Rivera, Mutated Art & Design.

Thanks to our Artistic Director and the Board of Directors for their united vision in adding a bit of energy and a new direction to our brand.
