Grace Theatre Guild

Our Mission

“I will praise the name of God with a Song; I will magnify Him with Thanksgiving.”  Grace Theatre Guild is founded on the principle that as sons and daughters of God, we are made in the image of God, with the intent of praising Him through all that we do. In every artistic endeavor, we aim to bring the community around us closer to God and each other by offering it all up in His name, and for His glory. It is with these goals in mind that this organization is established: to create in every instance a community conscious of the presence of God in our midst; to evangelize through the portrayal of Christian values in art; and to offer up our talents and blessings to the Lord in authentic human expression of the arts.

Our Story

Grace Theatre Guild is a 501(c)(3) non-profit aiming to serve the greater Austin area by providing theater by community, for community. The love for telling stories and glorifying God onstage was cultivated from a young age in the Guild's founding members, both through their families and through mutual participation in the Christian Academy of the Performing Arts, where many of the current members met during their middle and high-school years.

After performing alongside one another in many productions, going their individual ways as they entered college, adult life helped them realize just how much they valued their shared passion for theater and music. Even for those who majored in music and theater or continued productions in college, performing was never the same without the shared love and community they had built with each other. So, in the fall of 2021, the now-president and vice president of the Guild, J.P. Kinney and Hannah Anway, began to discuss how to continue their mutual love of theater and the community. Many others expressed their own desire to continue glorifying God through the stage, and after the rousing success of a backyard cabaret in the summer of 2022, the Grace Theatre Guild was born, and was legally recognized as a non-profit by the State of Texas in November of that same year.

In July of 2025, The Guild officially received its 501(c)(3) non-profit certification, allowing their dreams to take flight to new heights of realization.
