It's about one moment. It's about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back. These are the stories and characters of today, the Songs For A New World. The first musical from Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown (Parade, Bridges Of Madison County), this moving collection of powerful songs examines life, love and the choices we make.
Brown transports his audience from the deck of a 1492 Spanish sailing ship to a ledge 57 stories above Fifth Avenue to meet a startling array of characters ranging from a young man who has determined that basketball is his ticket out of the ghetto to a woman whose dream of marrying rich nabs her the man of her dreams and a soulless marriage.
With a small, powerhouse multi-ethnic cast and a driving, exquisitely crafted score running the gamut of today's popular music, Songs For A New World is a great way to bring the next generation into the theatre.

Oh Dragon Theatre Company is excited to announce auditions for Jason Robert Brown’s SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD.
Two men and two women (ages can vary) are sought for this production. All actors will play various roles.
ACTORS OF DIFFERENT ETHNICITIES ARE STRONGLY ENCOURGED TO AUDITION.
Video submissions will be accepted starting on MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15th (midnight) until SUNDAY, MARCH 13, 2016. Any video before or after dates will not be considered. Please send a video of you singing 32+ from a Jason Robert Brown Show or a Pop/Rock/Contemporary Musical (RENT, Spring Awakening, Next to Normal, etc). It is recommended to use an accompanist or Karaoke track, but acapella auditions will also be accepted. Send your video audition to ODTCAUDITIONS@GMAIL.COM. Callbacks will be Saturday, March 26th. Time, location, and callback music will be sent via email to selected actors.
