Opportunities for +50 age Actors, Hourglass Players
Jun. 03 - Jun. 30 (2014)
The Hourglass Players is holding auditions for mature actors. The Hourglass Players is an “on-the-go” theatre company that specializes in ”senior theatre”. Company actors take one act play performances and other theatre genres, such as reader’s theatre, to those who have difficulty traveling to regular theatre venues. Performances are held in retirement and assisted living centers in the greater Austin area. The company also performs at libraries and senior centers and for clubs and organizations.
The Hourglass Players is seeking male and female actors age 50 plus to join the ensemble. Ensemble members learn roles in a number of short (10-20 minute) one-act plays. Rehearsals and performances are usually in the afternoon or early evening on weekdays several times a month. There are some Saturday performances. Not all actors are required at each performance.
This is an excellent opportunity for mature actors who wish to perform but who do not wish to commit to a full length or long run production.
Auditions will be held in the afternoon or evening by appointment in either Georgetown or Pflugerville during the first two weeks of July. Please send a resume and photo (official head shot or casual photo) to J. Rake at prof20336@yahoo.com or T. Friedman at tamarafriedman@att.net. Please include your preferred location and whether afternoon or evening. Please submit by email by June 30.
