The world’s greatest love story takes to the streets in this landmark Broadway musical that is one of the theatre’s finest accomplishments. Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo & Juliet’ is transported to modern day New York City, as two young idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the “American" Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time. From the first notes to the final breath, West Side Story is one of the most memorable musicals and greatest love stories of all time.

EmilyAnn Theatre AUDITIONS for their 2017 summer musical, WEST SIDE STORY!!
The show will run June 2- July 2 (Friday and Saturday evenings, added Sunday on final weekend) on the EmilyAnn Patti S Harrison Outdoor Mainstage.
Auditions will take place on Saturday, January 7th at our indoor studio theatre. Please email Bridget at bridget [AT] emilyann.org to set up an audition time for the day.
All auditioning must prepare a one-minute monologue of their choice and 12-16 measures of a song of their choice (piano sheet music or a karaoke track). Please wear clothes you can dance in, as you may be asked to learn a short choreography sequence.
The callbacks will be very dance intensive.
We encourage skilled dancers (even if not actors) to audition!
