Characters
The role of Maria Celia has been cast.
- Sofia (Female, mid 20s) The younger unmarried sister of Maria Celia. She is under house arrest with her sister for signing Maria Celia’s manifesto in favor of liberalization. A free-spirited piano player, she and her sister are struggling to maintain their hope and identities.
- Lieutenant Portuondo (Male, early 30s – early 40s) The officer in charge of overseeing the house arrest sentence of Maria Celia and Sofia, he strikes a dangerous bargain with Maria Celia. He offers to read her portions of seized letters from her husband in exchange for telling him about the story she is currently writing.
- Militia Guard/Victor Manuel (Male, late 20s – mid 30s) A quirky piano tuner, Victor Manuel, is the sister’s only link to the outside world.
