Magnificent Bastard Productions is currently casting for the Austin production of their smash hit, Shit-faced Shakespeare® - one of the UK’s most successful shows, playing to sell-out crowds since 2010 and transferring to the Leicester Theatre in London's West End in 2016! An entirely serious Shakespeare play with a single drunken actor thrown into the mix. The show involves real drinking, real Shakespeare and genuine improvisation from the cast of sober actors.
AUSTIN, TX :: AUDITIONS :: January 21, 2016, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Rehearsals: January 21 - February 5, 2016
We are looking for Non-Equity actors who are comfortable with all elements of the show and are seeking: 2 professional actors / comics / improvisers who will be playing multiple roles in an abridged Shakespearian comedy, who have a great personality, are adept at handling classical text, are skilled and funny improvisers, who really enjoy a drink, are tremendously pleasant drunks and who work excellently as part of a cast of high quality, professional performers.

Male or female actors, any body type, who are high-energy, interactive performers, comfortable with Shakespeare’s text and interacting with an audience.
*Especially seeking actors with producing/management experience to take on Company Management and producing responsibilities (additional compensation to be discussed and commensurate with experience).
Initial Performance Dates: January 22 - March 26 (with an option to extend into the spring and beyond). (Austin cast members appear on stage from January 30)
Rehearsals: Early January for 2-4 weeks for all cast. Rehearsals times are varied, with some flexibility.
Compensation: Performers will be paid $50-$75 per performance as well as rehearsal stipend.
Run: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday nights (6:30pm) January 22nd, 2016 - March 26th, 2016 (with possible added shows on Thursdays or Sundays).
Please apply only if you have availability for the vast majority of the above dates and are comfortable with ALL aspects of the show. We are only interested in seeing people who are able to fully commit to our very unique show and who respect the care we take to ensure the safety and health of our cast, crew and audience. We are seeking performers of diverse ethnicities who are over the age of 21, with valid ID.
