Spamalot
by Georgetown Palace Theatre
Jan. 24 - Jan. 26 (2015)
Lovingly ripped from the classic comedy film MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL, SPAMALOT retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people. Did we mention the bevy of beautiful show girls?
The 2005 Broadway production won three Tony Awards, including "Best Musical," and received 14 Tony Award nominations.
We’re looking for large personalities, and about 20 or so people willing to make fun of themselves and have lots of fun doing it. See character breakdown, below.
Rehearsals: Rehearsals are scheduled to begin either Monday, February 16th, or Monday, February 23rd, depending on conflicts. Rehearsals will typically be held Mondays through Thursdays 7:00-10:00 and Saturdays 12:00-5:00. Since we’re having a shorter rehearsal period than normal, we’ll be distributing the scripts and music as soon casting is done, and asking everyone to be familiar with at least the lyrics by the first rehearsal.
Background checks: Everyone involved with the production must submit to a background check at the Palace's expense. If you are cast, you'll receive a secure link where you can fill it out. There is no cost to you.
The Georgetown Palace Theatre is 501c3 Non-profit organization. There is no compensation for any of the actors. We practice color blind casting, so all ages, abilities, gender and ethnicities are encouraged to participate.

Auditions will be held January 24th, 25th, and 26th from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Callbacks will be by invitation only and held Tuesday, January 27th, starting at 6:30 pm.
Auditions will consist of singing (selected sides, see below), and a dance audition on the 26th. All of the men who audition will come on Monday, Jan 26th at 7pm, and all of the women will come Monday, Jan 26th at 8:15pm. Everyone who auditions will need to come to the dance portion, as it’s critical we be able to see how everyone moves.
Auditions are scheduled on-line via the Palace website. You’ll fill out the audition form, conflict calendar, and sign up for a time. You'll receive an email confirming your appointment. If you’re unable to attend any of the audition time, please send us an email and we’ll work with you to schedule an alternative time.
