Lend Me A Tenor
by Wimberley Players

Dec. 01 - Dec. 02 (2015)

Lend Me a Tenor is a classic farce of mistaken identity with an endless stream of slamming doors crafted around the human foibles surrounding romance, lust, and a zest for life. Set in a 1930's Cleveland hotel as a world class opera star is coming to town to headline the local opera company's social function of the year. The show's goal is fast paced controlled chaos that delivers audiences all the laughs and joy they can ask for.

The question each character must answer: "How far are you willing to go to make your dreams come true?"

Directed by David Bisett.

Characters:

Max - Young adult to mid-thirties. Energetic, slightly rumpled, honest, awkward, and in love with Maggie.

Maggie - Young adult to mid-thirties. Quirky. Loves opera, Max, and romance in an ever changing order of priority as she seeks all life has to offer.

Saunders - Old enough to look like Maggie's dad. "Mid-Fifties" according to the script. Type A personality. On the daggers edge of a social and business success, he battles anger issues.

Tito - Somewhere close to or beyond middle age. An Italian of imposing, exuberant personality, Tito loves life, opera, women, and wine in any order... or combination.

Maria - A marriage match with Tito in age. A fiery Italian, she is supportive, jealous, and at the end of her rope with Tito's flaws and proclivities.

Bellhop -Ageless. Knows how to play the hospitality game to find an edge in an otherwise dull existence. Has lots of dreams including meeting his idol, Tito.

Diana - Shameless and knows her away around, over, and thru men using her natural gifts.

Julia - Mature. The script says she is 60. A lady of social standing and allure, at least in her own mind.
