Please choose a selection that will showcase your vocal range and ability.
An accompanist will be provided, no recorded accompaniment or acappela auditions please.
Be prepared to participate in a dance audition.

Rehearsals
Rehearsals will take place in the Russell Hill Rogers Theater, and will generally be held Sunday from 6:00 to 10:00 P.M.,
and Monday through Thursday from 7:00 to 10:00 pm.
Rehearsals will begin no sooner than Monday, July 25, 2016.  
First tech rehearsal will be held Sunday, September 25 from 10:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. with a 2 hour dinner break..
Dress rehearsals are Monday, September 26 – Thursday, September 29, 2016.

Characters
  • Belle (Female, late teens-late 20s, Mezzo-Soprano) Classically beautiful, she is entirely unaware of her looks. Sensitive and intelligent, she is a strong-willed and adventurous heroine. 
  • The Beast (Male, early 20s-mid 30s, Baritone) A handsome man trapped in the body of a beast, he is angry, volatile, and hopeless until he meets Belle. She is able to awaken his human side to help him overcome the spell he is under. 
  • Maurice (Male, mid 40s-mid 60s, Baritone) Belle’s father, an eccentric inventor, who is warm and immensely lovable. He is very devoted to his only daughter.
  • Gaston (Male, early 20s-mid 30s, Baritone) A handsome, pompous, and dim-witted ladies man who is a larger than life caricature. He is a self-centered, narcissistic, and egomaniacal bully.
  • LeFou (Male, early 20s-mid 30s, Baritone) Gaston’s sidekick and fall guy, he is equally dim-witted as his master and serves as comedic relief.
  • Cogsworth (Male, mid 30s-late 40s, Baritone) English major domo of the castle who has been transformed into a mantle clock. Wound a little too tight, he still has a heart of gold.
  • Lumiere (Male, late 20s-early 40s, Baritone) A former maître d’ who has been transformed into a candelabra. He is passionate, prone to dramatic displays of emotion, and fancies himself a ladies man.
  • Mrs. Potts (Female, early 40s-early 50s, Mezzo-Soprano/Alto) A former cook who has been transformed into an English teapot. She is kind-hearted and maternal.
  • Chip (Male, child-early teens, Tenor) An adorable and inquisitive young boy who has been transformed into a teacup.
  • Babette (Female, late teens-early 30s, Soprano) A former maid who has been transformed into a feather duster. She is constantly teasing Lumiere.
  • Madame De La Grande Bouche (Female, late 30s-early 50s, Operatic Mezzo-Soprano) A former opera singer who has been transformed into a wardrobe. She is the warm, comedic, and very theatrical life of the party.
  • Monsieur D’Arque (Male, late 20s-early 50s, Tenor) Evil proprietor of the lunatic asylum.
  • Ensemble (Male/Female/Youth, All Ages & Vocal Ranges)
  • Narrator – Prologue announcer
  • Young Man – The Beast before he was transformed; a selfish prince.
  • Old Beggar Woman – A beautiful enchantress in disguise.
  • Townspeople – Aristocratic Lady, Fish Man, Egg Man, Sausage Curl Girl, Lady with Cane, Lady with Baby, Candle Man, Hat Seller, Milkmaid, Shepherd Boy, Bookseller, Silly Girls, Gaston’s Cronies, Mother, Villager
  • Servants – Caryatids, Flatware, Napkins, Dust Pail, Egg Timer
 
Youth Actors
For this production we are only looking to cast a total of 6 youth actors: 3 male and 3 female.
They will be utilized to play some ensemble roles throughout the production.
