Around the World in 80 Days

Mark Brown's hilarious take on the classic Jules Verne novel Around the World in 80 Days follows the fearless adventurer Philias Fogg, who agrees to an outrageous wager that puts his life and fortune at risk. Danger, romance and comic surprises abound as five actors portraying 42 characters circle the globe in a dramatic race against time!

The production is directed by Emily Rankin. Performances run June 1-24, 2017 at the Round Rock Amphitheater (301 W Bagdad Ave, Round Rock, TX 78664). Rehearsals will begin in around May 1st. A full synopsis of the play is available here.

Player 1 Various roles including Gauthier Ralph, British Consul, Director of Police, Priest, Sir Francis, Judge Obadiah, Chinese Broker, Ship Clerk, Bunsby, Proctor, Engineer, Mudge, Clerk, Speedy, Ship Engineer, Train Clerk
Player 2 Detective Fix and various roles including Andrew Stuart, Priest, Indian Conductor, Elephant Owner, Young Parsi, Oysterpuff, U.S. Conductor, Reverend Wilson's Servant
Player 3 Passepartout, John Sullivan
Player 4 Aouda and various roles including James Forster, Newspaperman, Priest
Player 5 Phileas Fogg
 
All roles are paid. Equity and non-Equity actors are welcome. Actors of all ethnicities are welcome. Actors of either gender will be considered for all roles except Aouda, which will be played by a woman.

Reserving an audition

Auditions will be held Saturday, December 3rd, between 9:00 am and 12:30 pm, as well as Sunday, December 4th, between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Auditions will be at ArtSpace (231 E Main St, Round Rock, TX 78664). 

To reserve a time, please email Gabie Fultz at gabie@penfoldtheatre.org and reference the show. If you have any conflicts or time preferences, please include them in your email. We will reply with a precise audition time. Callbacks are tentatively scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, December 10th and 11th.

You will be asked to perform two prepared monologues, one comic and one dramatic, totalling two minutes in length or less. We also request that you bring a headshot and resume.
