32 bars of music in an upbeat contemporary style, preferably from the show
An accompanist will be provided
Be prepared to participate in a dance audition that will include a jazz/ballet/tap combination

Characters
The roles of Cassie and Paul have already been cast.
  • Zach (Non-Singing Role): Director of the show and former lover of Cassie.
  • Larry (Tenor): Zach’s authoritative assistant.
  • Sheila (Alto): Over-confident and beautiful actress.
  • Val (Alto): Foul-mouthed and superficial actress who has undergone plastic surgery, sexy but with an attitude.
  • Diana (Alto): Energetic and humorous, she often speaks from the heart.
  • Judy (Mezzo-Soprano): Nervous and scatterbrained, she is gawky but hopeful.
  • Kristine (Mezzo-Soprano): Married to Al, not a strong singer, and hysterical.
  • Maggie (Mezzo-Soprano): Daydreamer.
  • Bebe (Alto): Modern dancer.
  • Connie (Alto): Short, comedic dancer.
  • Mike (Tenor): Frequently teased by others.
  • Richie (Tenor): High-energy, good-natured, and proud.
  • Don (Baritone): All-American dancer.
  • Mark (Tenor): Optimistic, naïve, and charming.
  • Greg (Baritone): Typical “pretty boy” dancer.
  • Bobby (Baritone): Flamboyant, funny, and clever.
  • Al (Baritone): Married to Kristine and very protective.
Also casting dancers, male and female, to portray the dancers who perform in the opening number only, and who may also be cast as offstage/pit singers for the rest of the show.
