Tango Through The Revolution

Oh Dragon Theatre Company is excited to announce auditions for their next project Tango Through The Revolution by Adam Esquenazi Douglas.
Tango Through The Revolution tells the story of a newly married couple who begin their life together on the eve of Castro’s rise to power in 1950’s Cuba. We are looking for 6 males and 1 female of hispanic descent to portray a wide and varied cast of characters.
- Moises Esquenazi/The Grandfather: An easygoing man of meager means. Violeta’s husband. (Male, 20’s-30’s)
- Violeta Esquenazi: Moises’ wife. Playful. Would rather have nothing more than her man with her day and night. (Female, 20’s)
- Dr. Salomon Mitrani: The best doctor in Cuba. Violeta’s brother. Protective of his sister. Working on fully accepting her husband. (Male, 30’s)
- David Esquenazi - A radical. Moises’ younger brother. (Male, 20’s)
- Fidel Castro: (Male, 20’s – 30’s, beard is a plus)
- Cuban Government Official: Non-speaking role (Male, 20’s)
- Cuban Soldier: Non-speaking role (Male, 20’s)
Auditions will take place on May 7th from 7pm-10pm at SPACE - 7915 Manchaca Road, Austin, TX 78745. Performances will be on July 24th, 25th, 26th, 31st, August 1st, & 2nd at Brave New Books.
