When a podcaster travels to Puerto Rico to cover the groundbreaking of a luxury mountain development, she expects to tell someone else's story. Instead, she begins uncovering her own. Dreams, ancient traditions, unexpected allies, and a community determined to protect its future collide in an original bilingual musical where the past refuses to remain silent.

WE ARE SEEKING ACTORS!
Adult actors of all ages and backgrounds are invited to audition for our multi-ethnic community theatre cast.
Actors must reside in Austin or surrounding areas.
Spanish is a plus, but not required.
 
AUDITIONS BY APPOINTMENT
Mondays at 6:00 PM August 10, 17 & 24
Saturdays at 10:00 AM August 15 & 22
 
If invited to audition, please prepare one 2-minute monologue of your choice—dramatic or comedic and appropriate for family entertainment—to perform before our artistic community.

Our annual action-packed mainstage production draws from Puerto Rican oral tradition, documented history, and current events, combining original live music, dance, community theatre, and Cocobalé — STICKS & MACHETE FIGHTING — to bring history to life and honor its unsung heroes.
 
VOLUNTEER & PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
Community theatre roles are volunteer opportunities, including opportunities for emerging actors to take on substantial and lead roles.
A limited number of stipends are available for experienced professional actors with a formal acting résumé.
Cast members also receive unique educational and performance opportunities, including:

Sticks & machetes with Toby Minor (Texas State University)
 
Authentic Boricua Folkloric Dance & Song Training
