When 83-year-old retired architect and widower Howard Wright is met with two unexpected personal crises, he escapes his assisted living facility in Houston, Texas, determined to overcome his own stasis by taking matters into his own hands.
DESTINATION is a bittersweet yet humorous look at life and love among a generation that is on the losing end of both of those notions.

Jarrott Productions is pleased to announce auditions for our May production of Destination by George Ayres.
Audition Dates
Friday, March 20, 2026 | 7–10 pm
Saturday, March 21 | 2–5 pm
Location: Violet Crown City Church
Auditions are by appointment only. Please sign up using the form below. Ahead of the audition, you will receive a follow-up email with your audition time, location details, and additional instructions.
Actors will read from provided sides (see links below). No prepared monologue is required. Sides may be held during the audition.
Rehearsals will begin the week of April 5 and run through May 2, typically Tuesday–Friday evenings from 7–10pm and Saturday midday.
Tech rehearsals will begin at Trinity Street Playhouse on Tuesday, May 5 and typically run:
• Tuesdays–Fridays: 6–11 PM
• Saturday: 10 AM–10 PM
• Sunday: 1–10 PM
Monday, May 11 will be dark.
A full rehearsal schedule will be distributed no later than our first rehearsal in April. Not all actors will be called for every rehearsal. Conflicts must be disclosed in advance and approved prior to the first rehearsal. Conflicts will only be accepted through April 19.
Performances
May 14–31, 2026
Thursdays–Saturdays at 7:30 pm
Sundays at 2:30pm
All performances will take place at Trinity Street Playhouse.
Actors must be available for all scheduled performances.
This is a non-union production; each actor will receive a stipend.
Roles to Be Cast:
Age ranges listed below are intended to describe the characters, not the actual ages of the actors. Actors who feel they can believably portray the role are encouraged to submit.
HOWARD: Male-presenting, White, 80s
JENNIFER: Female-presenting, White, 40s–50s
ROBERT: Male-presenting, Latino/Hispanic, 40s–50s
ALMA: Female-presenting, Any race/ethnicity, 60s
CAROLINE: Female-presenting, White, 70s–80s
The role of Gigi has been pre-cast.

Actors may be asked to read from any of the sides below. Please familiarize yourself with them in advance; memorization is not required.
Actors are welcome to review the full script for context if time permits.
