Reefer Madness

Inspired by the original 1936 film of the same name, this raucous musical comedy takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the hysteria caused when clean-cut kids fall prey to marijuana, leading them on a hysterical downward spiral filled with evil jazz music, sex and violence.You won’t be able to resist the spoofy fun of Reefer Madness!
The Austin Community College Drama Department is holding auditions for our upcoming Spring 2026 production of
Reefer Madness, the Musical

Auditions are open to all ACC students and the community. You do not need to be an ACC student to audition.
Roles are uncompensated. Casting a diverse ensemble of 12.

Taped video submissions will be accepted until 10:00 PM CST on Sunday, November 16th OR, instead of submitting taped video option, there will be in-person auditions which will take place on Monday, November 17th at 7:30 PM at the ACC Highland Campus Black Box Theater Building 2000. You do not need to do both.
Please prepare either an 1-2 minute comedic monologue OR a 1-2 minute original public service message about the dangers of marijuana & a 60-90 second song cut in the style of the show. Please include resume and headshot.
Callbacks will be in-person Tuesday, November 18th. Callback notifications will be sent via email.
Mature subject matter.
Tentative rehearsal schedule:
Possibly 1 or 2 rehearsals Fall 2025 (TBD)
January 6th- February 26th
MTWTH 7:00 PM-10:00 PM
Saturday TBD during the day
REHEARSALS will be held at Highland Campus Black Box Theatre
Performances will be February 27th – March 14th 2026
Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2:00pm.
