Hairspray is a vibrant and feel-good musical set in 1962 Baltimore, where plucky teenager Tracy Turnblad dreams of dancing on the popular Corny Collins Show. Despite societal pressures and body shaming, Tracy’s talent and determination earn her a spot on the show—and she quickly becomes a local celebrity. But when she sees the racial segregation behind the scenes, Tracy sets out to make a difference. With the help of her quirky parents, her best friend Penny, and new friends from the Black community, she challenges the status quo and campaigns to integrate the show. Filled with catchy ‘60s-style music, big dance numbers, and lots of heart, Hairspray is a joyful celebration of love, acceptance, and standing up for what's right.
