The Mousetrap

After a local woman is murdered, the guests and staff at Monkswell Manor find themselves stranded during a snowstorm. It soon becomes clear that the killer is among them, and the seven strangers grow increasingly suspicious of one another.
Boerne Community Theatre announces open auditions for
The Mousetrap by Agatha Christie

Open Auditions: Feb. 23 and 24, 2025 from 7-10 p.m., with rehearsal schedule TBA after consideration of actor conflicts, to begin in March.
Show dates: May 2, 3, 4; 9, 10, 11; 15, 16, 17, 18, 2025
Callbacks: TBA, only as needed
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Please bring a headshot or any up-to-date recent photo, resume if possible (not required -- first-timers welcome, too!) and list of schedule conflicts. Please come prepared with your best standard British or other relevant dialect work.
CASTING: Characters consist of 3 women, 5 men. Actors of all ages/races/ethnicity/gender presentations/body types welcome and we are committed to ensuring a safe and inclusive workplace for all actors.
MOLLIE RALSTON: 20s-30s (standard British dialect): A pretty young woman with an ingenuous air, Mollie is a newlywed married to Giles Ralston and the young owner of Monkswell Manor, a Victorian-era estate that has been converted into a guest house.
MRS. BOYLE: 40s or older (standard British dialect) Rigid, stern and somewhat unpleasant.
MISS CASEWELL: 20s-30s (standard British with the ability to transition to Cockney in final scene) Guest at Monkswell Manor. Remains somewhat mysterious and aloof from other guests; a bit masculine or gender-nonconforming in her energy and demeanor.
GILES RALSTON: 20s-30s (working class or standard British dialect): Mollie’s husband of one year, and co-host of the new boarding-house at Monkswell Manor.
CHRISTOPHER WREN: 20s-30s (standard British dialect): A flighty, flamboyant and exceedingly neurotic young man, guest at Monkswell Manor. Excellent comic timing.
MR. PARAVICINI (30s or older) (mysterious continental/vaguely European accent): An unexpected guest at Monkswell; Paravicini is present at the manor only because his car became stuck in a snowbank during a winter storm.
MAJOR METCALF (40s or older) (standard British accent): A typical retired British military officer and guest at Monkswell manor.
DETECTIVE SERGEANT TROTTER (20s-30s) (standard British or hint of slight Cockney accent): A late-arriving guest who is trying to establish the relationship between any of the guests and a nearby murder.
