Please bring a resume and current headshot (if available). The audition will consist of cold readings from the script. Be prepared to stay for the full audition period.

Long time friends, Bogie and Zane meet at their local record store to browse for vintage vinyl where they meet Sage, the new record store owner. What follows is a quirky and touching romantic comedy about love, life, loneliness, and the music that accompanies it all.

Love and Vinyl will be performed at Astro Record Store on Bastrop’s historic Main Street.

List of characters:

All roles are available. Diverse ethnicities are encouraged to audition.

Bogart (Bogie), age 40-50: Bogie is a dude who loves vinyl. He has a gentle spirit and is, admittedly, not that experienced with matters of the heart.

Zane, age 40-50: Zane is also a dude who loves vinyl. He is the more outgoing of the two, but on this day, he is dealing with a broken heart after an unexpected breakup.

Sage: age 35-50: A record shop owner. Sage is independent and wise. She may have some sharp edges, but she is kind and carries empathy for others. 

Rehearsals and Performances:

Rehearsals will begin Monday, October 9th. Monday-Thursday 7-9 pm with two to three Saturday afternoon rehearsals.

Performance dates: Thursday-Saturday evenings, November 2nd-18th with the possibility of additional performances November 30th-December 2nd.

You will be asked to list all conflicts on your audition form.
