Roles:

Curly McLain: Male, Baritone—A self-assured cowman in love with Laurey, though he will not admit it.

Laurey Williams: Female, Soprano—A young woman who lives with her aunt on a farm. She loves Curly, though she will not admit it.

Ado Annie Carnes: Female, Soprano—The boy-crazy daughter of a farmer.

Will Parker: Male, Tenor—A shy cowman who wishes to marry Ado Annie, despite her father’s disapproval.

Jud Fry: Male, Baritone—A hired hand who works for Aunt Eller and Laurey. He is not well-liked by others and has strong feelings for Laurey.

Aunt Eller: Female, mezzo—A motherly figure to everyone in area. She is Laurey’s aunt and caretaker, and she and Laurey run their farm together.

 

Ali Hakim: A mysterious traveling salesman supposedly from Persia.

Gertie Cummings: Alto or Soprano—A girl from another town who takes a liking to Curly. She is known for her unusual laugh.

Andrew Carnes: Male, Tenor—A farmer and the father of Ado Annie. He is very skeptical of cowmen, especially Will Parker.

Ensemble: Various cowmen, farmers, and women of the area. Strong singers and dancers preferred.
