The Prince & The Pana is our 21th original, bilingual play -- based in Puerto Rican oral and documented history -- that shares an important turning point in the mid 19th century.Set in the 1850s, our annual mainstage production will combine original live music, dance, community theater, and cocobalé -- STICKS & MACHETE FIGHTING -- to bring history to life and honor unsung heroes!

TITLE: The Prince & The Pana
WHAT: Original script for community theatre, multi-ethnic cast.
WHO: Puerto Rican Cultural Center, 21st Theater Production
WHEN: Two mainstage performances, December 9 & 10, 2023.
Announcing auditions for roles in an original play featuring a multi-ethnic cast -- adults, all ages, including lively seniors! Actors must reside in Austin or surrounding areas.
PRODUCTION DETAILS
Roles of multi-ethnic cast include adults of any ethnicity:
* Merchant and business community
* Mountain farmers and sugar cane community.
* Fighting artists (sticks and machetes)
Great volunteer opportunity! Barter includes:
- Professional Stage Combat training - sticks and machetes - by fighting master Toby Minor (TX State University).
- Authentic training in Boricua folkloric dance and song
Community Theatre rehearsals will meet Wednesdays, 6-9:30 pm, starting September 13, 2023. Two weeks before production, additional rehearsals will fold actors, dancers, musicians, and fighters together into one exciting musical! Fight Training will include professional workshops on stage combat on selected Saturdays. Knowledge of Spanish a plus, but not required.
