Sanctuary City
by Ground Floor Theatre
Feb. 06 (2023)
Sanctuary City is a powerful story of two teenagers who were brought to America and must navigate the pressures of having an unstable home life. Set in post 9/11 Newark, NJ, these two young DREAMers become one another’s sanctuaries from harsh circumstances as they do their best to pursue the futures they imagine for themselves.
Ground Floor Theatre (GFT) is holding auditions for the Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Martyna Majok’s play Sanctuary City directed by Andrea Nuñez.
GFT is seeking actors from various backgrounds that are not of Western European origin/ethnicity, or from a country of greater liberalism than the United States.
Auditions will be held in person at Ground Floor Theatre (979 Springdale) on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 6pm and callbacks will be at the same location on February 7th. Auditions and callbacks will consist of readings from the script. All auditions will be by appointment; please submit headshot and resumes to andrea@groundfloortheatre.org.
All positions are paid an honorarium.
Ground Floor Theatre is committed to inclusivity and as such unless specifically called for in the script, we cast without consideration to ability, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, size, or shape.
