Holiday Inn
by Georgetown Palace Theatre

Aug. 28 - Aug. 29 (2022)

Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn tells the story of Jim, who leaves the bright lights of show business behind to settle down on his farmhouse in Connecticut… but life just isn’t the same without a bit of song and dance. Jim’s luck takes a spectacular turn when he meets Linda, a spirited schoolteacher with talent to spare. Together they turn the farmhouse into a fabulous inn with dazzling performances to celebrate each holiday, from Thanksgiving to the Fourth of July. But when Jim’s best friend Ted tries to lure Linda to Hollywood to be his new dance partner, will Jim be able to salvage his latest chance at love?

Based on the classic film, this joyous musical features thrilling dance numbers, laugh-out-loud comedy and a parade of hit Irving Berlin songs, including “Blue Skies,” “Easter Parade,” “Steppin’ Out With My Baby,” “Heat Wave,” “White Christmas,” “Be Careful, It’s My Heart,” “Cheek to Cheek,” “Shaking the Blues Away” and many more!

Rehearsals:

Holiday Inn will begin rehearsals on or around Thursday, September 22, 2022. Scripts and Scores will be available for pick up before the first rehearsal to those who are offered roles in our production.

Rehearsals are typically held Monday through Thursday from 7:00-10:00 pm and Saturdays or Sundays* from 1:00-5:00 pm.

Performances:

Sometimes ticket demand causes us to add Saturday Matinee performances at 2 pm.

*Sunday rehearsals will only be put onto the schedule if Saturdays become unavailable due to too many cast conflicts. Please put Saturday and Sunday conflicts on your form.

Conflicts:

Please make sure to notate all conflicts that you are aware of on your conflict sheet when filling out your audition form. It is difficult to create a rehearsal schedule if we do not know all of your conflicts up front. Adding all of your conflicts after casting could result in removal of the production.

Casting:

Casting will be done in the following days by the Holiday Inn production team and send their cast list to be approved by the Executive Artistic Director. Once approved, emails will be sent to the actors that will be offered a role in the production. Once a full cast has accepted, an email to all remaining actors who auditioned will then be sent.

Health and Safety Protocols:

Masks are currently optional for all patrons, front of house staff, performers, crew, and musicians during rehearsals and performances.

Everyone should self-monitor for symptoms and stay home if they do not feel well. You should also wear a mask if you have direct exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, and get tested on the 5th day following the exposure.

We’re constantly monitoring and evaluating our policies and will update them based on guidance from the CDC.
