Clue, the musical

The internationally popular game is now a fun-filled musical that brings the world’s best-known suspects to life and invites the audience to help solve the mystery: who killed Mr. Boddy, in what room, and with what weapon. A show with 216 possible solutions, Clue: The Musical is filled with comic antics, witty lyrics, and a beguiling score that carries the investigation from room to room. A real Whodunit where the audience is part of the action!

 


Auditions for FTC’s winter musical Clue: The Musical will be held Monday, November 8th at 6:30 p.m., and Tuesday, November 9th at 6:30 p.m. at the Steve W. Shepherd Theater, located at 1668 Highway 87 South in Fredericksburg. The production will be directed by Betty Hukill.

Video auditions may also be submitted. All video auditions must be sent to Executive Director Steve Reily at fbgtheaterco@verizon.net with the subject line “Clue Audition”.

For FTC to comply with social distancing guideline, actors auditioning in person must sign up in advance for a 5-minute time slot. To reserve a time slot, call the theater office at 888-669-7114.

For auditions you will need to prepare 32 bars of a show tune, or a verse and chorus. You may choose a song from the show, or another song that best shows your vocal range and abilities. A CD player and MP3 hookup will be available. A keyboard and accompanist will also be present. No acapella auditions please. There will be a brief dance/movement auditions, so please dress accordingly. Actors will also be asked to read scenes from the script. Scripts will be available to be checked out from the FTC Box Office starting Friday, October 15th.

Schedule:  

Rehearsals are typically Monday through Friday, 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

February 7th -10th are Technical/Dress Rehearsals. For the success of the production, attendance at these rehearsals and at all performances are mandatory for the entire cast and crew. 

Performances: 

Thursday, February 10 at 7:30 pm (Preview) 

February 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26 at 7:30 p.m. – February 13, 20, 27 at 2:00 p.m.

Character Breakdown: 

Mr. Boddy – The charismatic host of the game, husband of Mrs. Peacock, and victim of the murder.

Detective – She arrives to solve the mystery.

Colonel Mustard – He fancies himself a triumphant war colonel and is having an affair with Mrs. Peacock. He was married to Mr. Boddy's mother after the death of her husband.

Mr. Green – A con artist and entrepreneur, he is a former lover of Miss Scarlet's and business partner of Mr. Boddy.

Mrs. Peacock – A black widow, socialite, and chair of Peacock Enterprises married to Mr. Boddy and cheating with Col. Mustard. She is suspected in the murder of five previous husbands. 

Professor Plum – A super genius, author, and imposter whose family fortune was ruined by Mr. Boddy. 

Miss Scarlet – A former Las Vegas lounge performer and former lover of Mr. Green. 

Mrs. White – A fun-loving chief domestic of Boddy Manor; played by a man in the tradition of English pantomime and music hall.
