This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve.

Audition Dates: Video submissions are being accepted from Sept. 30th through Oct. 22nd, 2020.
The Wimberley Players are committed to casting productions based on the highest level of talent regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexuality, body-type or age. Everyone who is dedicated to creating amazing theatre is encouraged to audition with The Wimberley Players.
Company/Venue: The Wimberley Players, Inc./ Wimberley Playhouse, 450 Old Kyle Rd., Wimberley
Production Dates: Dec. 4th, 5th, and 6th, and 11th, 12th, and 13th. Performances are Friday and Sat. at 7:30 and Sun. at 2:30.This is a play in radio play format and will be performed with a live audience as well as live streamed.

Process: Each actor will self-tape and record 3 of the readings to be considered as an audition submission. Preference is to have one reading done in a full shot (full length) and two readings done in a medium to close up shot (from chest up). Callbacks will be done via Zoom. Rehearsals begin the first week of Nov.

Mary (Hatch) Bailey: George’s girl. A kind and loving young woman Violet Bick: a small town siren, seductive.
Rose Bailey: George’s loving and supportive mother
Mrs Hatch: Mary’s mother, disapproves of George Bailey
ZuZu: George’s daughter. 6 years old
Announcer: 1940’s female radio voice exaggerated

Clarence: George’s guardian angel
