Sleuth
by Wimberley Players

Jan. 28 - Jan. 30 (2020)

Sleuth by Anthony Shaffer is a classic British thriller, bringing to mind detectives such as Sherlock Holmes or Hercule Poroit. However, this play takes us into the mind of the detective author. The writer, Andrew Wyke uses his understanding of crime to seek revenge on Milo Tindle, the man having an affair with his wife. True to any thriller, the plot takes several twists and turns to lead the audience through this tale. There are classic bits to add humor. Characters wear disguises, search for clues and struggle with the criminal. The question is…who is the criminal?

Director: Laura Haygood

CHARACTERS

Andrew Wyke is a strongly built man in his fifties, but has gone slightly to seed. He is an author of detective stories. His success as an author has led to a comfortable lifestyle of excess and arrogance.

Milo Tindle is about 35, good looking with a hint of a Mediterranean background. He is very neat in his attire, but he does not enjoy the financial comfort that Andrew holds. The actor playing this role needs to gain the support of the audience and be able to switch completely into other roles.
