Shakespeare in the Dark: Macbeth
by Jennifer Sturley

Aug. 12 (2018)

Shakespeare in the Dark: Macbeth is an immersive horror live theatre experience that will be performed entirely in pitch blackness. Our goal is that the removal of visual overstimulation will lead to a state of sensory deprivation in which audience members focus on the heart of why Shakespeare is still performed 400 years after his death: it's all about the language. In addition, theatre performed fully in darkness is theatre that is inherently accessible to people who are blind or visually impaired, who are so often denied full and equal access to theatre. Most of all though, this play will be super scary and really fun!

AUDITION NOTICE! (Paid work!)

We are looking to cast 7-10 actors to play multiple parts in an ensemble cast. All genders, ages, races/ethnicities, religions, sizes, (dis)abilities, sexual orientations, etc. This is a great opportunity to play against type or audition for a role you thought you’d never get to play! We are especially interested in people with voice acting experience who can distinguish between multiple characters vocally. All actors should be comfortable and familiar with Shakespeare’s language.

Auditions will be held by appointment on Sunday, August 12th from 3:30-8:30pm.

Email ahughes579@gmail.com to schedule an audition. If you are unavailable on that date but would like to audition, email anyway and we can try to schedule something or make alternate arrangements.

Performance dates are  Wednesday October 31st-Sunday November 4th with matinees on Saturday and Sunday.
