CASTING CALL

Kenya Gillespie’s “Jeremiah”

 

UT Austin MFA graduate student Kenya Gillespie is seeking talents for his short film “Jeremiah.”  

AUDITIONS: Saturday, February 17th from 10:00 am-3:00 pm at UT Austin

REHEARSALS: To be scheduled around the actors’ availability

SHOOT DATES: March 13-15 in and around Austin, TX

COMPENSATION: A modest daily stipend, a digital copy of the finished film, and IMDB credit.  Food will be provided during the shoot.

Upon receiving your information, we will contact you to set up an audition if we are interested.  Sides will be sent at that time.

 

Characters:

 

JEREMIAH

Male, 17-23

Japanese-American, but open to all Asian or mixed Asian

The high school quarterback.  Athletic, introverted, lonely, anguished.  He is struggling with his repressed gay feelings as well as his attraction to Michael.

 

MICHAEL

Male, 17-23

Open-Ethnicity

Jeremiah’s teammate and best friend.  Athletic, openly gay, confident, playful.  He first and foremost wants to be a supportive friend to Jeremiah, suppressing any feelings that he’s had for him in the process.

 

*Both actors should be comfortable performing a gay kiss.

 

MASKED FIGURE

Tall, contemporary dance background preferred.
