Al and Willie were top-billed vaudevillians. Despite their celebrated reputation, the two old men have not spoken in twelve years. When CBS requests them for a “History of Comedy” retrospective, a grudging reunion brings the two back together along with a flood of memories, miseries and laughs.

Audition Dates:         Monday, Jan. 22th, 2018 at 7:00pm at the Wimberley Playhouse

                                Tuesday, Jan. 23th at 7:00pm at St Andrew’s Episcopal School, 5901 Southwest Parkway, Austin TX, 78735

Callbacks will be held on Monday, Jan. 29th  7pm., at the Wimberley Playhouse located at 450 Old Kyle Road, Wimberley TX 78676

 

Process:  1st round – Monologue optional. Actors may bring a monologue if they have one prepared, otherwise they will be asked to read from the script. Callbacks – Group readings, sides will be provided.

 Please schedule a reserved audition time slot by emailing the address below and bring a headshot and resume. Callbacks will be by invitation only. Not all potential cast members will be called back.

 

Characters:

Willie Clark - In his 70’s, cantankerous, forgetful.  He was a once well known Vaudeville comedian now aging and bitter.

Ben Silverman - Nephew of Willie-Well dressed man in his early 30’s, an agent, married, patient.

Al Lewis -Willie’s Vaudeville partner-In his 70’s, soft spoken and pleasant.  But, Willie gets under his skin.

Patient - Male-20’s to 70’s

Eddie - Male-20’s-30’s

Director - This is a voice.  Authoritative, impatient

Nurse - Buxom in her 20’s -plays a vamp in the vaudeville scene

Registered Nurse - 42 years old, no nonsense.
