"Paul and Corie Bratter are newlyweds in every sense of the word. After a six-day honeymoon, they get a surprise visit from Corie’s loopy mother and decide to play matchmaker during a dinner with their neighbor-in-the-attic Velasco, where everything that can go wrong, does."

 This is a lovely, comedic show with characters to fall in love with.  

The Georgetown Palace announces auditions for our production of Neil Simon's Barefoot in the Park.

We are looking for versatile actors to play these iconic roles.  Will consider females for the delivery and telephone persons.

Auditions consist of a prepared (not necessarily memorized monologue.)  

Auditions will be held Saturday, January 6th from 2:00-6:00 pm, at the Palace Playhouse 817 S. Austin Ave Georgetown TX 78626.

Callbacks will be held January 8th from 7:00-10:00 pm.  By invitation only.  Callbacks will be posted on the Palace website on the auditions page.  You will NOT receive an email.  They will consist of cold (ish) readings from sides from the script.

Auditions are scheduled online via the Palace website. You’ll choose a time, fill out the audition form, and then fill out the conflict calendar. 

Please email a headshot and resume to productions@georgetownpalace.com Please submit these items by Friday, January 5th.  If you do not, they won't be included in the production team's packet.  

You will receive an email confirming your appointment. If you are unable to attend any of the audition times, please send us an email and we will try to work with you to schedule an alternative time.

Rehearsals: Rehearsals are scheduled to begin Monday, January 15th. Rehearsals will typically be held Monday through Thursday 7:00-10:00 and Saturday 1:00-5:00 pm. We will be distributing the scripts as soon casting is done, and ask everyone to be familiar with at least the lyrics by the first rehearsal. Tech rehearsals are typically Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 pm to 11:00 pm with a dinner break. 

Barefoot in the Park opens on Friday, February 23rd, 2018 at the Palace Playhouse and closes Sunday, March 11th. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm, with Sunday matinees at 2:00 pm.  

Background checks: Everyone involved with the production must submit to a background check at the Palace's expense. If you are cast, you'll receive a secure link where you can fill it out. There is no cost to you.

The Georgetown Palace Theatre is 501c3 Non-profit organization. There is no compensation for any of the actors.

We practice color-blind casting, so all abilities, gender, and Ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to participate.
