AUDITION NOTICE

 

ZACH Theatre’s Theatre for Families Series announces local auditions by appointment for Goodnight Moon, the Musical on Monday, November 6thfrom 11:00am – 4:00pm in ZACH’s Nowlin Rehearsal Studio at 1426 Toomey Road.  Callbacks will be scheduled on Wednesday, November 8th, and Friday, November 10th from 11:00am – 3:00pm in the same location.

 

REHEARSAL & PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE:

Rehearsals begin February 6th, 2018.  Performances begin February 27th, and closes on May 27th.  Performances will be Tuesdays through Fridays at 10:00am & 12:00pm, and Saturdays and Sundays at 11:00am & 2:00pm. 

 

 

AUDITION APPOINTMENT INSTRUCTIONS (PLEASE READ THESE CAREFULLY):

 

Actors will be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

Please include in the email a resume and headshot attached in PDF or Word Document format, and please indicate your preferred audition time.  All actors should bring a hard copy headshot and resume to the audition.

 

AUDITION INSTRUCTION:

NOTE:  We are seeking four non-AEA actor/singer/dancers, 18 years and up, with strong comedic skills to form an ensemble that play the inhabitants of the “Great Green Room”.  Experience with beginner- tap dancing required.  Puppeteer experience encouraged but not required.  Actors should audition only  if they will have daytime availability in February 2018 – May 2018. 

 

 

For the audition, actors should prepare a short up-tempo musical comedy/pop/folk or movie song that shows vocal range and humor.  Bring your book with alternate audition songs.  Callbacks will consist of a dance call, and reading sides & scenes from the script as well as songs from the show – sides & sheet music will be sent separately to those asked to attend.

 

ROLES TO BE CAST:

Bunny (male or female):  An overactive, goofy young rabbit who rather than going to bed wants to make mischief, tell jokes, play games and have fun.

 

Old Lady/Ensemble (female):  A wise and sweet adult rabbit that gets caught up in Bunny’s bedtime shenanigans; plays various and multiple roles.

 

Mouse/Ensemble (female):  Bunny’s stuffed animal friend who is 4 years old; plays various and multiple roles.

 

Larry the Tooth Fairy/Ensemble (male):  Not your average tooth fairy, Larry visits Bunny to collect his tooth; plays various and multiple roles.

 

NOTE:  We are also casting understudies for both roles.
