You Can't Do That, Dan Moody!

In September 1923, Williamson County tried and convicted the Ku Klux Klan for the first time ever in the United States. This year, in the courthouse the Palace Theater once again presents the play based on this historic trial, performed in the newly renovated, historically accurate court room in which the trial was held 94 years ago.
Join us for a presentation of the true story of Williamson County's courageous stand for justice.
Initial auditions for this historical event will be conducted on July 7th from 1 to 3 pm and 8th from 6 to 9 pm. Auditions will be held on the Springer stage at 810 S Austin Ave Georgetown, TX
We will be looking for approximately 27 actors, male and female, from the ages of 8 to 85. A character breakdown can be found here.
Auditions consist of reading with other auditioners from the script. Sides will be available at the time of the audition.
Callbacks will be held on Monday July 9th from 7:00-10:00 pm and will be by invitation only. Callbacks are posted on the Palace website NOT emailed to you.

Rehearsals will tentatively begin Monday August 7th. Many of the rehearsals will be held on Palace property, and Performances will be at the Historic Georgetown Courthouse.
Rehearsals will typically be held Monday through Thursday 7:00-10:00 and Saturday 1:00-5:00. Performances are Friday and Saturdays at 7:30pm, and Sundays at 2pm. Sometimes ticket demand causes us to add Saturday Matinee performances at 2pm. This production will open for a VIP crowd on Thursday September 7th and close Sunday October 1st.
Background checks: Everyone involved with the production must submit to a background check at the Palace's expense. If you are cast, you'll receive a secure link where you can fill it out. There is no cost to you.
The Georgetown Palace Theatre is a 501c3 Non-profit organization. There is no compensation for any of the actors.
We practice color blind casting. All ages, abilities, gender, and ethnicities are encouraged to participate.
