CASTING FOR THE FOLLOWING ROLES:

Charles Desselle (30-45, Black):

Charles is a failed jazz musician turned successful gospel music producer. In spite of his successes and popularity he’s an atheist who feels the weight of stagnation closing in. Charles is an intelligent man who can sometimes fall victim to his own hard-headedness.

Eleanora Davis (30-45, Black)

An intellectual powerhouse, with a razor sharp wit, Eleanora is highly respected member of her community. She hails from a well-to-do Southern family but can sometimes have a skewed perspective on life as a result. Much to the chagrin of her ex-husband Charles, Eleanora is obsessed with maintaining tradition.

Josephine Desselle (16-20, Black)

Josephine is the beloved daughter of Charles and Eleanora. In the eyes of her biological parents she can do no wrong but in reality she’s a casebook sociopath whose lack of empathy and narcissism has left permanent scars on those closest to her.

Lena Simone (16-20, any ethnicity)

Lena is Josephine’s “best friend” and the editor of her high school newspaper. She’s nosey as fuck, can be just as manipulative as Josephine and will talk your ear off about nothing.
