As the Nazis begin their rise to power in Germany in the late 1920s, American writer Clifford Bradshaw visits Berlin. After making a few friends and finding housing, Clifford visits the seedy Kit Kat Club and meets an English singer, Sally Bowles. The writer and singer soon fall in love. Soon, Clifford discovers that he has been inadvertently helping the Nazis by delivering packages to Paris for a German friend of his, Ernst Ludwig. Clifford ends up deciding to return to the United States but Sally decides to remain in Berlin.

Sunday, February 26: St Andrew's Episcopal School, Dell Theatre, 5901 Southwest Pkwy Austin, TX 78749. 5pm-7pm or 7pm-9pm. It is requested that you sign up for either 5-7pm or 7-9pm. Be prepared to stay for an entire 2 hours.
Monday February 27: Wimberley Playhouse, 450 Old Kyle Rd., Wimberley, TX 78676 6pm-8pm or 8pm-10pm. It is requested that you sign up for either 5-7pm or 7-9pm. Be prepared to stay for an entire 2 hours.
Tuesday, February 28: Texas State University, Theatre Building, 430 Moon St. San Marcos, TX. 78666 Rm. 206 7pm-10pm.

2-4:30pm: choreography. Not all actors will be called for the choreography portion.
Audition Process: Please prepare a song, 16 to 32 bars in length. Sheet music or digital files only. No a cappella or CD. There will be an accompanist present.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:
Emcee ‐ Master of Ceremonies –Tenor – The host of the Kit Kat Klub – comedic – loveable – requiring agile stage movement and dance – speaks with a German Accent – Age range of appearance 20’s to 40’s
Clifford Bradshaw –Tenor – Description – American Novelist traveling to Berlin –Appearance Age range 20’s to 30’s in age. Speaks with an American accent.
Sally Bowles – Mezzo– able to belt - She is the star singer at the Kit Kat Klub. A quirky character that comes across as flighty – yet at times struggles with knowing the darkness of the reality of her life as a cabaret performer. Appearance Age Range – 20’s to 30’s. Speaks with a British Accent.
Fraulein Schneider – Alto ‐ A landlady who rents rooms in her large flat. Appearance Age Range 50+. Speaks with a German accent. Comfortable with stage movement and light dance – waltz.
Herr Schultz –Tenor – One of Fraulein Schneider’s boarders and the proprietor of a Fruit Shop. Appearance Age Range 50+. Speaks with a German accent. Comfortable with stage movement and light dance.
Fraulein Kost – Alto/Mezzo – Another of Frl. Schneider’s boarders. She earns money by offering favors to sailors –. Comfortable with stage movement. Speaks with a German accent. Appearance Age Range – 30’s to 40’s
Ernst Ludwig – Sings in the ensemble – A friendly and likable German – Speaks with a German accent. Comfortable with stage movement and light dance – waltz. Appearance Age Range – non specific.
Kit Kat Klub Girls (Rosie, LuLu, Frenchie, Texas, Fritzie, and Helga)– Ensemble Singers and Dancers ‐‐ The individuals will also be part of various scenes as performers and as club patrons. Some of the individuals will be chosen for small feature roles.
Kit Kat Klub Boys – (Bobby, Victor, Hans, and Herman) Ensemble singers – various vocal ranges – must be able to dance. The individuals will also be part of various scenes as performers and as club patrons. Some of the individuals will be German Sailors who frequent Fraulein Kost’s services and other roles.
