Collection
by Generic Ensemble Company

Feb. 11 (2017)

Auditions for a role in Collection with Generic Ensemble Company on Feb 11.

Audition Call for SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2017 2-4 p.m.

The Generic Ensemble Company (GenEnCo) seeks performer-collaborators for “Collection,” a mostly devised production that will explore and embody queer narratives about love’s joys and griefs.

This project is tangentially inspired by bowerbirds, who collect tiny, trinkety objects to build elaborate houses for potential mates. How do our collections - tangible and intangible - from past relationships affect our current and future relationships?

GenEnCo is an Austin-based theatre troupe that makes the invisible visible through bold, socially relevant, body-centered theatre. Brave, creatively-inclined, open-minded, hard-working people will thrive in this collaboration. Our rehearsal room is social-justice oriented with an anti-racist, open-ability, and queer-positive ethos. People of color and genderqueers are especially encouraged to audition. No experience necessary, just a commitment to the process and willingness to learn.

To audition, please contact Smalls at LauraJKhalil [AT] gmail.com with an email of interest and a resume/headshot if applicable. Auditions will consist of individual conversations and group exercises. Prepared monologues, songs, or dance excerpts (no more than one minute) are welcome but not required.
