CASTING for the role of “BUDDY”

Male (or identifies as male). 7 years old (or older to play 7). Young Truman Capote. Smallish in physical stature but makes up for it with a huge imagination and sense of wonder. Basically parentless, so left alone with an immense capacity to love – a love that he freely bestows upon his 60-year-old, distant cousin “Sook”. And – likewise – she upon him. He and Sook are both treated as eccentric outcasts, and thus are best friends forever. A sensitive, artistic, insightful and loving boy – more effeminate than not – a boy of great depth and intelligence. Expressive. Easy to smile when happy, yet quickly responds to others pain and sadness. A sensitivity and understanding well beyond his young years.

A CHRISTMAS MEMORY is a play with three characters.
The role of “SOOK” has been cast and will be played by Carol Hickey.
The role of the “NARRATOR” has been cast and will be played by Luke Hill.
